Research Park Hosts 12th Annual Capstone Competition

Sarnia, ON – The Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park will host the 12th annual Capstone Engineering Design and Competition later this month.

The program, featuring more than 70 students from the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at Western University, will be held Friday, March 24.

"Capstone is an opportunity for graduating students to present design projects to a panel of judges made up of local community and industry leaders," said Dr. Katherine Albion, Director of the Commercialization Centre. "Learnings gathered from both students and industry experts will help to lay the foundation for future careers and growth in industry."

Students will compete in the categories of Petrochemicals, Green and Biochemical Processes, and Specialty Chemicals. First and second place awards will be presented in each category.

Presentations are scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. and will continue until awards are handed out at 2:50 p.m. The event is open to the public.
